KBMax Team visited the Chicago Salesforce Office

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 8/18/17 2:35 PM
We had a great time meeting with the Salesforce CPQ sales team in Chicago. Many thanks to their management team and Seamus Eagan who helped us coordinating the meetings and logistics, and  setting up the agenda with us to ensure the SE and AE teams are getting the "most out of it" such as  understanding the value and the feature set KBMax provides.
Our Salesforce partnership have come a long way. We first demonstrated our Salesforce integration during last year's Dreamforce '16 and received great reviews since then. Over the last six months, we worked very hard to formalize our partnership and integration with Salesforce CPQ. We achieved ISV status in mid March and have our Salesforce CPQ integration package listed on the AppExchange since July this year.
Thus, the timing to meet with the Salesforce CPQ team was ideal. As we are already engaged in some accounts supplementing Salesforce CPQ with complex configuration capabilities, 3D visualization and CAD automation, we identified a number of short and long term oppotunities, and markets we can capitalize upon.
“KBMax 3D and Snap are the two sexiest technologies at Dreamforce in years.” GODARD ABEL, SVP SALESFORCE

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 8/4/17 3:10 PM
Early adopters of 3D technology in manufacturing, fashion or furniture just to name a few,  have gained great experience and now realize the competitive advantage of 3D visualization. 3D has matured in the last few years with greatly improved performance, user experience and simulation of materials.
Today, 3D solutions are now deliver significant value for companies, enabling them to reduce cycle times and ultimately create more value from innovation. However, these benefits only matter if they are translated into long lasting business results.
KBMax can be integrated with any CRM system like Salesforce, Oracle or MS Dynamics, PLUS it can be embedded into any external web site giving customers, dealers and distributors access to the product configurator.
With the additional dimension, 3D product configurators provides users with enhanced interaction with their customized products, which in return translates into major benefits for your business:
  • Leveraging existing 3D models. If 3D models of products already exist, or a design team is in place to create them, a 3D product configurator is a natural fit.
  • Getting a product configurator set up is very simple within KBMax due to our clean, integrated software and our fully integrated admin panel.
  • The three dimensional model allows the user to view their product from all angles, ensuring the product meets requirements, shape and size.

  • And finally, its sets you apart from the competition. While product configurators are becoming mainstream, 3D visualization is not as common and very view CPQ vendors have the out-of-the-box technology offering a great competitive advantage.
KBMax offers the fastest 3D Visualization technology, today.

KBMax Snap Rule Engine - Creating A Trigonometry Function

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 5/2/17 3:27 PM
Most CPQ vendors will not necessarily show their rule language and admin platform until customers went through several sales calls and demos. Even then customers get a small glimpse into the engine that drives their configurators.
Usually it is hard to learn syntax that will limit what you can do and slow down your adoption and implementation. At KBMax we take a different approach. From the start, we display our admin tool and rule language. We are proud of it and our customers love it. And, we think you will too.
To build rules in Snap, you simply drag blocks from the toolbox and snap them together to form logic statements. Snap thinks like you do. Need to set an image? Select and see the image right in the rule. Snap blocks contain dropdowns, color-pickers, buttons, etc. to make your job easier.

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 4/12/17 3:22 PM
As a long-term Oracle Gold Partner we are very excited and look forward to Oracle's upcoming Modern Customer Experience Conference in Las Vegas, April 25-27. Over the course of the three days we will be at the Experience Exhibit Hall demonstrating our latest Oracle CPQ Cloud integration and showing what is possible, today to elevate customer experience.
Our MAX Modules supplement Oracle CPQ with its comprehensive feature set, which elevates the ease of use and product interaction levels to a new standard via its fast, responsive 3D user interface. And, CAD automation significantly reduces cycle times by automatically generating CAD models and drawings, thus streamlining sales and manufacturing processes.

KBMax' Annual Offsite Meeting 2017 - San Luis Obispo, California

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 4/5/17 5:49 PM
Tucked between the Coast Range, the Pacific Ocean and right in the middle of Central Coast Wine Country, San Luis Obispo enjoys all the spoils of a life well lived on the California coast. The KBMax core team gathered for our annual meeting at the Dancing Deer Farm just outside San Luis Obispo to step away from our day-to-day work and to build team spirit.
We reviewed last year's performance and accomplishments were we did extremely well. It was one of the years, if not the year with the highest growth. We won the trust and built partnerships with some of the global fortune 500 companies further penetrating global markets. And, we are currently working on a few very exciting opportunities, which will close very soon.
"The Visual Configure Price Quote internal POC project is finishing up nicely this week. The KBMax group has done a great job training and assisting our internal resources on programming the experiences. They have also made key enhancements to their software along the way per our requirements, above and beyond our expectations."
We strengthened and formalized our partnerships with Salesforce, Oracle, Solidworks and others. KBMax' technology seamlessly integrates with all of them out-of-the-box, which we proved many times during pilot projects or POCs. Making sure customers get exactly what they have asked for within the committed   time frame proves that we can deliver on our promises, consistently.
We discussed and debated current opportunities and challenges, our competitive landscape, and created strategic plans, which allow us to realize much faster growth than what we initially projected. The strategic technological decisions KBMax made over the last years, puts us years ahead of our competitors.

Salesforce World Tour - CeBIT 2017, Hannover

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 3/27/17 2:41 PM
I had a chance to visit Germany's premier Salesforce World Tour @ CeBIT 2017 event, which took place from March 20th to 24th, 2017. It was Salesforce's second appearance at the annual CeBIT, which takes place in Hannover. This high energy event combined with the attendance of high quality people and exhibitors is a great place to network and learn from each other.
"For the second time Salesforce World Tour @ CeBIT 2017 took place during CeBIT from 20th – 24th March 2017 – both events together are more than just the sum of two leading events."
'Best Friends' at the Salesforce World Tour @ CeBIT
The Partner Forum at the Salesforce World Tour @ CeBIT was this year once again the hub for exchange between partner companies, resellers and channel experts. In addition, partner awards for outstanding achievements have been presented for the second time. CeBIT is the trend monitor for the ICT industry, but also the main event for exchange between partners, resellers and channel experts. Joint successes find their start, new projects are initiated, synergies are explored and new strategic partnerships are founded here.
"At the Salesforce World Tour @ CeBIT, we would like to support the exchange between partners and show them how important they are to us and our customers," said Markus Reischl, Salesforce's Regional Vice President Alliances & Channels EMEA Central. "This is why we have further expanded our PartnerForum this year with the Partner Lounge and are looking forward to more than 150 guests..."

Oracle and KBMax Launched Joint Program- 3D Visualization, CAD Automation, CPQ Cloud Solution

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 3/14/17 2:54 PM
Oracle and KBMax launched a joint program, read the press release here, which is a comprehensive 3D Visualization / CAD Automation / CPQ Cloud solution aimed at helping customers transition their legacy configure, price and quote systems to an independent, yet integrated quote to cash industry framework.
"Our Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) solutions solve enterprise grade Quote to Cash process challenges. I believe that we can make an immediate and substantial improvement to your company’s bottom line," said Vinesh Vis, AVP of Sales North America - Oracle CPQ Cloud
Case in point, NOV needed to improve their ETO process for oil and gas drill pipes. Utilizing KBMax' 3D CAD Automation module reduced engineering labor costs by more than 50%, eliminated errors and improved quality metrics for their ETO process, and reduced cycle times for drawings from days to minutes. Here is a short video clip about how we improved NOV's performance. This radical concept is called the Virtual Engineer Solution, which in part optimizes the design engineering workflows and automates CAD configurations in SolidWorks 3D models and 2D drawings.

B2B E-Commerce and Enterprise CPQ

Posted by Thomas Plocher on 3/1/17 7:44 PM
Lately, much has been written about the trends of B2B E-Commerce. In June 2015  Forrester shared some data expecting that  by 2019 the B2B E-Commerce market will be worth $1.1 trillion. That by itself is a pretty significant number and is expected to be more than double of the B2C market at $480 billion.
LYONSCG a premier E-Commerce consulting firm posted in February the article B2B eCommerce in 2017: The Time is Now. 74% of B2B buyers say that buying from a website is more convenient than buying from a sales representative. As we have become very comfortable with online shopping for personal use, companies are now starting to apply the same concept to the B2B buying process. After all, 93% of buyers prefer to buy online when they have already decided what to buy.
Convergence of Enterprise CPQ and E-Commerce 3D Visualization for B2B and B2C Products
Gartner says, “by 2018, 40% of B2B digital commerce sites will use price algorithms and configure/price/quote tools to dynamically calculate and deliver product pricing.” Here at KBMax we offer customers not only a robust enterprise Configure-Price-Quote solution, but also the 3D visualization to guide the configuration process where dynamic updates to sizes, colors, components and features give a real time product tour in 3D. Customers who initially implemented KBMax for internal use integrating CPQ with CRM or ERP systems, are now starting to embed our technology into their websites where external B2B customers can configure and purchase highly complex products. The result is an increased customer experience due to the interaction with the configured products along with the customized pricing, while eliminating configuration errors.
